Chalet Tarentaise is a private chalet, owned and run by Martin & Deirdre Rowe. Now in it's 21st year of operation, it started life a couple of hundred years ago as a farmhouse and cow byre. Now, as an alpine ski chalet, a lot of the original character and charm remain.
All the bedrooms feature en-suite facilities. On the ground floor the lounge is cosy and homely with comfortable seating and a large wood burning stove sitting in the original farm fireplace. At one end of the room is a fully stocked bar where tales of the days adventures can be shared over a pre-dinner drink.
Separate from the lounge is the dining room with its low ceiling and even lower beams (mind your head!).

Situated in the small village of Villaroger, half way up the Tarentaise valley between Bourg St Maurice and Val d'Isere. The village is part of the Les Arcs - Paradiski system but remains one of the last unspoiled Alpine villages connected to a large ski area. Only 150 metres from lifts, there is direct access to over 2000m of vertical skiing above the village. One of the longest continuous marked runs in the World, originates at the top of the Aiguille Rouge and finishes in front of Chalet Tarentaise.
Unfortunately due to the lack of a ski school in the village, Chalet Tarentaise is not a suitable location for complete beginners.
